![]() I was looking forward to our first Marco book particularly, because he was my favorite character when I was a kid. But now on the two year anniversary of his mom's death with his father still devastated emotionally, he realizes that he can't keep going and risk that his dad will have two family members to mourn instead of one. ![]() Until now, he's been the most reluctant of the group, only going along at times due to wanting to help Jake, being shamed by Rachel or Cassie, because something drastic happened that he could help with in the moment, or simply because he saw a mission as low risk or fun. This book is nominally about the Animorphs trying to carry out Ax's plan of luring a Yeerk ship to the ground, stealing it, and then hightailing it back to Andalite space (where, theoretically, he can send reinforcements back to the Animorphs), but really, it's about Marco finally committing to the mission. ![]() I've been sitting here for twenty minutes trying to figure out who exactly the predator is in this book, and I still don't have a definite answer. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() It is typical of Ashley’s superb skill as a writer that two side characters can grow and develop to such an extent that the readers need to know more. ![]() These two glorious stereotypes have appeared often in past Kristen Ashley books and like many readers I was fascinated by them both and how their relationship formed. This is the story of Marcus, who operates his business on the “wrong side of the law”, and his Dolly Parton lookalike ex-stripper wife. This is a short book and I had already read this on kindle so I knew it would be good. *You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.* I loved the narrator <3 She did a great job and she used her "Daisy" voice. I bow down to Kristen Ashley for all of her work, but the Rock Chicks just have that extra place in my heart and it just grew today because of Daisy and Marcus. If you are even a little bit of a Rock Chick fan you’re going to want to pick up your kindle or your paperback, grab the audiobook and read this heartwarming love story of two who come one. This book is about her before Marcus and how she meets him and how they come a couple but it’s so much more. Nothing seems to get her down, this book oh my it just hits you in the feels.
